Dark Hall Mansion worked closely with Live Nation Merchandise, The Beatles’ North American Licensing Agent, and Apple Corps Ltd. on this project to develop a series of limited edition screen prints by leading contemporary artist, Tom Whalen. What makes this project even more amazing, it that this is the first time that The Beatles have formally allowed a contemporary artist to reinterpret their classic films imagery within a art print format.

Presents for myself
Last week I bought the new book of Marian Bantjes, I Wonder. She spent 15months writing, illustration and designing the book and it is printed in 5 colours throughout the book, where Gold is one of them. The book is printed on a coated stock and is a nice small size, because Marian intended for this book to be actually read and not only enjoyed for its visual beauty. Every single illustration is also new and created for the book, and the content is not about her work, but instead about how her observation about the world around her.

The wonderful folk over at The Plug had the most ingenious idea ever! He tied a disposable camera to a bench in a park and left it there with a sign.

Celebrating Colour
Sorry for the absence - had a little bit of admin problems (some paperwork i neglected to send). But I am back and still on the war path against Winter, especially after it decide to come out full Freeze Rays Blazing today. Geeze it is cold in Johannesburg.
My first weapon of choice is colour. I have been tempted to buy brightly coloured pants for quite a while now, and after seeing how amazing these ladies look in their splashes of colour, that pushed my in the direction of the rainbow.

All I can say is, I love Apple. I love an iPad. The iPad2 got launched today. I want an iPad. Watch the video.
The link here shows the Smart Cover for the iPad. It’s a protective cover for the screen which attaches itself to the iPad with 2 magnets. It snaps right in place and it doesn’t really hide the design of the device. When you close the cover it will put the iPad to sleep and the other way around. Ingenious. Don’t expect anything less from them g[uys over at Apple.
