Making of…

On my morning internet surfing and stumbling, I came across this little gem. Being a Coca-Cola fanatic (some might say addict), I just had to post it. It is the making of the first Neon sign for the Piccadilly Circus, in 1954.

The Dikke van Dale is the Dutch dictionary

And according to the Dikkie van Dale, ‘Dress guard’ means: oilcloth or plastic lining partially surrounding the rear wheel of a bicycle to prevent a jacket or skirt from coming into contact with the wheel.

This is exactly what Simeli does. They design beautiful bicycle ornaments: hand crocheted dress guards and matching keyrings, which you can buy here

Portraits for a Pup

Limited Edition is a great project by The Sydney Dogs and Cats Home. 21 Top Australian photographers were asked to photograph 3 of the animals at the Home and bring out the unique character of the animal. The result is 63 unique and original prints of the animal, all signed 1 of 1 by the artist. These photos are now being displayed all over Sydney and you can either buy the prints on ebay or adopt the animal in the photo.
It is nice to see that most of the critters have already been adopted.

Here is a video of the making of the project

New from The Blackheart Gang

The Blackheart Gang just returned from their latest expedition, The Bog, carrying with them many notes and images of what they saw. Amongst these were 5 paintings of some of the wildlife seen there. These paintings have been made into copperplate etchings in collaboration with Warren Editions.

This is what I want to do.
